Masahiro Sakurai Launches Smash Bros. Dojo

The Official Super Smash Bros. website has received a makeover and is functioning as a blog of sorts for director Masahiro Sakurai. It looks like it might just be a developer blog like the one that Mother 3 had. He ran one similar to it in Japan for Super Smash Bros Melee. This new website has a four page feature on how Sakurai received the position of director. It is actually quite an interesting story. For those who don’t know, Sakurai left HAL Laboratories a few years back. He was the creator of both Kirby and Super Smash Bros. Satoru Iwata was able to convince him to lead a team to create the next Super Smash Bros. As he said, “Creating a Smash Bros. with no soul would be a waste of time.” I agree. After finding out today that the controls would be similar to the GCN version and reading this article, I am completely confident in the new team’s ability to make Super Smash Bros. Brawl one of my favourite games of all time. Click “Read” for the entire thing. As I said, well worth the read.
