Matt Groening to be final boss in The Simpsons Game

The Simpsons Game - Image 1The last time we heard about the highly-anticipated multiplatform title of EA’s The Simpsons, we found out that most of the levels are going to be parodies of contemporary video game classics (i.e. God of Wharf, Shadow of the Colossal Donut, Medal of Homer).

Now, we’ve uncovered some new info about the game concerning the final boss – and no, it’s not the usual ones we’d expect, like Mr. Burns or Sideshow Bob. Rather, it’s the boss that would pretty much leave the fourth wall broken into tiny bite-sized pieces, The Simpsons“>Matt Groening himself.

Yep, it’s the creator of The Simpsons who’ll be left standing between you and the Game Cleared screen after all is said and done – which makes for a very interesting final boss fight indeed. If you’re curious as to just what the mind behind Springfield’s inhabitants think about this development, this is what he has to say:

Well the video game is mainly written by great writers, Matt Selman and Matt Warburton – I mean, you can just tell. Great, right? They did a send-up of video games. It’s a video game about video games; and I’m in the video game. I’m a boss that you have to fight at the end of the game. It was really fun recording a million ways of dying, going ‘UGGH, ARGGH, EUURGH!’

Certainly very creative updates indeed. We can only wonder what else would be revealed during the weeks to come. Updates as we get them!
