Media Create hardware sales for March 10 to 16: PSP on top

Logo of Media Create Japan - Image 1This week has shown good fortunes for Sony‘s PlayStation Portable handheld as it took the top spot in Japan‘s hardware sales, beating both of Nintendo’s best selling game platforms. The latest numbers from Media Create show the tale of the tape as the sales results for March 10 to March 16 were finally revealed. More details in our full article after the jump.

Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld - Image 1It was a neck and neck battle as Media Create tallied the numbers for this week’s “hardware king” of Japan. The latest chart sales, covering the week of March 10 to March 16, had Sony‘s PlayStation Portable dominating with 57,651 units sold.

Nintendo’s Wii console and DS Lite handheld followed closely behind with 55,845 and 53,266 units sold respectively. Other competitors were left far behind with the PS3, PS2, and the Xbox 360 trailing the pack.
