Meet some of the Elebits

IGN’s Mark Bozon did a nice quick look at some of the Elebits – from their self-titled game Elebits from Konami. As many of you know, Elebits are strange creatures that provide energy for the world – “Elebits” is sort of short for “electricity bits”. The game is set at a time when the Elebits stop providing power.

It’s up to you to find them and catch them using your anti-gravity capture gun. Here’s what Mark Bozon found so far:

  • Sky Elebit (Boss): This orange Elebit can manipulate gravity and create tornadoes to attacks its foes.
  • Large Yellow Elebit: Yellow Elebits attract smaller Elebits to become big – the biggest of normal Elebits. They throw things at people who get too close.
  • Small Yellow Elebit: Yellow Elebits combine with others to make a big Elebit. They love cookies and other sweet foods.
  • Gray Elebit: This is supposed to be the most powerful of the common normal Elebits.
  • Blue Elebit. This fast-moving creature can make a smoke screen to escape.
  • Pink Elebits: These are rare and hard to catch.
  • Black Elebits: These are friendly Elebits but their spikes make them unpopular.

Elebits is already out in Japan. It will debut in the U.S. on December 12. It’s becoming something of a cult hit and is getting a big following in Japan. A new Pokemon-like craze for the Wii generation? We’ll see.
