Famitsu review of MGS4 - Image 1 There’s been some unnerving news about Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots reviews as of late, but here’s something of a positive update: the game has been reviewed by popular Japanese game magazine Famitsu and has racked up a perfect score of 40/40.

This is quite an accomplishment for Konami and Kojima Productions. Only seven titles prior to MGS4 have received such a score. These “perfect” games include The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Soulcalibur, Vagrant Story, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Nintendogs, Final Fantasy XII and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Publications like GamePro and and the Official PlayStation Magazine have likewise given MGS4 perfect scores. Hold your breaths, PS3 fans. This may very well be another early candidate for game of the year honors on a lot of other media bodies. Click on the image to view the scan in full.
