Microsoft bigwigs get a hands on for Halo Wars

Ensemble proudly released its first Halo Wars play report, describing the Xbox360 exclusive as now being “fully playable and “fairly polished”. So how good is it so far?

Well, pretty good, it can be surmised, given that the head honchos from Microsoft Games Studio dropped by at Ensemble’s pad some time last week to check out what’s up with the merchandise. Included in the A-list group was MGS head Shane Kim, along with some friends. “This was more than a conventional milestone, as they sat down to play the game and get a hands on feel on how the project is really coming along,” says the update.

They were given a big boost in morale, because although they still have a long way to go, the MGS folks sure did enjoy themselves beating each other like there’s no tomorrow for the game. “We made sure we had a fairly polished build of our game ready for these folks to play, including some wicked new UI work by Ensemble Studio Artist Andy Gotcher and Programmer Billy Khan.”

And with the response of their guests to the game, we’re guessing “fairly polished” may be an understatement.
