MS Thinks 1080p not practicable

Kikizo had a video interview with Scott Henson, the director of the game technology group from Microsoft about 1080p, Blu-ray and expansions. It seems Scott thinks that 1080p would not work on any gaming consoles very soon, because it is simply “impossible”:

I think 1080p, just to address that directly, will be basically impossible. I think if you talk to any developer they will tell you that they will not have a performing game at 1080p.

Scott also commented on the HD DVD strategy of MS and the future upgrade of the Xbox 360 dashboard. He said that HD DVD drive will be an “accessory” for the Xbox 360, whereas an add-on for Blu-ray is “technically possible” but the company has no plan for that yet. Future upgrades of the dashboard will continue to improve the current no-so-satisfactory functions such as the music player.
