New Overlord details: multiplayer modes and DLC

Overlord - Image 1The first time we heard about the game Overlord for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the PC, we drooled over the prospect of roaming a realm with your imp-ish minions ready to do your evil bidding. The game gives you the chance to play it through any wicked way you want – now you can rule as a tyrannical madman who raids villages and asks for the peasants’ daughters as tribute. Sweet!

Speaking of raiding, NeoGAF ran an article on new details regarding this anticipated title. Multiplayer modes will be available and some juicy DLC will be released sometime after the game ships.

In terms of multiplayer, there will be a mode tentatively called Slaughtermode. This pits you against other overlords in a deathmatch to determine who lives up to his title. If creaming other people isn’t your thing, there’s a co-op mode available so you can show the villagers and the monsters that the only thing worse than a maniacal overlord is a couple of maniacal overlords.

The Plunder Challenge (not the final name) is a game mode where the sole objective is to blitz, pillage, and plunder a village dry. Grab everything in sight and show those cranky farmers who’s boss around these parts.

As far as DLC is concerned, the developers are promising more multiplayer maps and an entire chapter for the single player campaigns. It looks like Overlord is getting locked and loaded every day, and we can’t wait for it to arrive and give us the power.
