New Screenshot of Sadness

Poland-based games developer, Nibris, has released one screenshot of the enigmatic, gothic horror game for the the WiiSadness. Personally, this is one of those Wii games that really caught my eye and I honestly can’t wait to play it. Maybe the black and white feel of the game got me intrigued, or that the plot is really intellectually stimulating. Nevertheless, this Nibris project has caught the attention of the gaming community.

In case you aren’t familiar with the upcoming Wii game, this horror game is meant to scare the player by atmosphere and not by bloodlust or violence. The game is being directed by Stanislaw Maderek, and it takes place in 1914 Ukraine when The Great War (aka World War 1) is just about to take place.

The story will feature Maria and other characters that the player can control. The game tackles psychiatric issues such as schizophrenia, narcolepsy (a condition characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness) and nyctophobia (the pathological fear of the dark). And for a game that tackles such subjects, they couldn’t have picked a better era. During the early 1900s people couldn’t publicly talk about psychic problems and Psychoanalysis was still considered taboo in the field of medicine. Intriguing and enigmatic, what more could you ask for in a video game.

On a more personal note, we would like to thank Jak for the heads up.
