Ubisoft and Grasshopper Manufacture seemed to have noticed that the North American release of their latest offering No More Heroes is a bit too close to that of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and have made the decision to launch the title earlier than expected.

Fans waiting for the localized version of Goichi Suda‘s sandbox offering will now be able to take home No More Heroes on January 22, 2008. That’s roughly three weeks from now.

No More Heroes pits you in the role of young man Travis Touchdown who wins himself a beam katana and sets on the goal of becoming the world’s best assassin. Using the Wii Remote’s motion-sensing capabilities, you slash through rivals and roam the city in a plot that focuses on societal issues. This one’s a Nintendo Wii exclusive.
