Nokia N-Gage boss Kaidesoja: We are not scared of the PSP Phone

Should the PSP Phone becomes a reality, it is really exciting to see it go head to head with Nokia’s N-Gage platform. One top official from the Finland-based company was recently asked about his thoughts on the possible rivalry.

The official, who heads the N-Gage division, says that they are not afraid of an impending PSP Phone. More on this after the jump!

We are all aware that Nokia is trying to re-establish N-Gage as a mobile gaming platform capable of going up against Nintendo and Sony. We also know that there have been persistent rumors regarding a PSP Phone.

With those in mind, Nokia games boss Jaakko Kaidesoja was asked in a recent press event what he thinks about the possible appearance of a mobile phone from Sony Ericsson. The boss had this to say:

I’m not scared about anybody. The real question is how do they do it? Can they create a link between the PSP games and a phone?

Can they do the multiplayer and online stuff? We’ve been doing this for two years and it hasn’t been easy.

Aside from this exciting and highly probable rivalry, Kaidesoja was also asked about his thoughts on the recent hacks done by other mobile users to their First Access service. The game boss said that they had already foreseen this happening.

“We knew people would crack it. Cracking a sisx file isn’t that hard, so of course we expected it. And it’s good to get feedback on the First Access application even from people with other handsets,” added Kaidesoja. Keep checking back here at QJ.NET for more details regarding this matter.
