Excited about Virtua Fighter 5? Yeah, we are too, but we stumbled upon this little bit that has an enormous potential to dampen our days until the game officially launches in North America on February 20. Online site Gaming Age was able to get hold of a boxed retail copy early and noticed some confusion about the game’s resolution.

Virtua Fighter 5‘s retail box for North America mentions that 720p is the only supported HD video output. This is a big contrast to the Japanese one as Sega specifically mentioned full support for 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. Now, Gaming Age is not sure if this is a typo, a mix-up, or the sad news, because what Gaming Age had is an early retail version.
