Not long enough: 1st Xbox Rewards Challenge extended 3 days

And here you guys made me wait in line, only to find THIS? - Image 1This is what happens when Microsoft finds its servers flooded with registration requests for Xbox Rewards. Its Marketing Team has issued a statement, through Major Nelson, announcing that the Old Spice Experience Challenge is being extended to allow some of the more recent new registered Challengers a fair shot at collating 1,500 Gamerpoints.

The deadline to meet the cut-off is now April 15, 2007. Moved by three days. Well, it doesn’t look like a lot of time with which to go forth and collect Gamerpoints like crazy, but it wouldn’t be a challenge if it were that easy. Eh, but we’re simply doing this for the Contra and the extra MS points. According to the Xbox Rewards site, the Contra, 100 point, and 200 point rewards are still 100% available right now – unless the server slowdowns also slowed down updating the site. The Challenge page still lists the 12th as the cut-off date.

Heaven forbid all the Contra download codes be wiped off the shelves in three days. And what happens if some of us already have Contra?
