We’ve got this week’s new Blu-ray releases and we’re sure some of you guys will like to have some of them on your collections. The list is again on the scant side, but you’ll be glad to know that some of the titles are must-haves for certain people. This week, we’ve got an all-star cast: Led Zeppelin, Takumi Fujiwara, Oliver Cromwell, a bunch of vampires, and the Justice League.

That’s quite the lineup eh? This week’s titles for your Blu-ray home entertainment systems include a horror movie, an animated movie, a historical drama, a movie based on a manga and anime, and a collection of Led Zeppelin’s concerts at Madison Square Garden. Let’s check some of them out.

In case you haven’t had the chance to check out the anime and manga of the same name, Initial D centers on downhill mountain racing. Takumi Fujiwara learned how to drive the perilous curves of Mt. Akina as a tofu delivery driver. It didn’t take long before his skills caught the attention of certain racing groups in the area. Watch out for that hairpin turn!

Next up is Justice League: The New Frontier. This animated feature showcases the origins of the Justice League (note that this is not the JLA on Cartoon Network) and casts Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Clark Kent, Diana, Bruce Wayne, and J’onn J’onzz as the mythical group of superheroes. Fans of the TV series on CN will notice that the Green Lantern Hal Jordan and the Flash Barry Allen had taken the place of John Stewart and Wally West in this iteration. Anyway, in The New Frontier, the government cracks down on superheroes and of course, our intrepid heroes did not take that sitting down.

Lastly comes director David Slade’s 30 Days of Night. As we all know, vampires can’t stand the sun so they only come out during the night. What happens when a group of the vampires visit the sleepy town of Barrow, Alaska where the night goes on for thirty days? You can probably take a good guess.

That’s it for this week’s Blu-ray releases. Stay tuned for the coming weeks, as the more Blu-ray titles rush to shelves. In the meantime, check out this week’s complete list of releases:
