On Blu-ray This Week: July 30 – August 5

300, available on Blu-ray this week - Image 1This, indeed, is madness. Of course, madness here would connote something positive – e.g. wicked, sweet, winrar, [insert your own outcry of joy here]. Finally we get some seriously mind blowing eye-candy in the glory of high-definition.

Yes, we’ve heard some of your comments; quite a lot of you (myself included) have been waiting for this to come out. So, without further ado, from Warner Bros. Pictures, the film adaptation of Frank Miller‘s “300” will finally be available on Blu-ray this week!

Here’s the full list of movies to be released, all on July 31, 2007:

And hey, if the idea of seeing the trademarked 6-, no, 18-pack abs of Spartans in high-def doesn’t sit well with you, those two IMAX documentaries look rather appealing as well. Some of us are space junkies too, y’know. Blue Planet and Roving Mars capture Earth and Mars (respectively) like you’ve never seen it before – sans Discov/NatGeo voice overs from Patrick Stewart.

Shooter is also coming out. If this movie has anything that’s got to do with the upcoming (rumored) G.I. Joe film in 2010, Mark Walhberg looks like he’s preparing for his (rumored) role as Duke.

A very good lineup of Blu-ray movies this week. If it’s say to assume, I’m expecting a considerable spike in Blu-ray sales this week. Let’s see how hot-selling those Spartan 18-pack abs really are…
