Pre-Ordered PS3s will go to eBay?

ebayJust because the PS3 gets a lot of hype and GameStop/EB has announced the pre-orders doesn’t mean everyone is buying the console — and keeping it. (Are you crazy? Why would anyone buy the PS3 if he’s not keeping it?) I’d say, laissez-faire, sir!

Aeropause tells us that majority of the pre-ordered PS3s are going straight to eBay…er, who knows where else? Soon-to-be PS3 owners will either resell them to European fanboys or decide later whether to auction the console or not.

These PS3 go-getters know better than to get suckered in Sony‘s next-gen mania. There are far too few and precious units that will be sold by the PS3’s launch. Elsewhere in the world, somebody’s hands might be itching for a good grip of the SIXAXIS and would be willing to pay for the high price of the PS3 auctioned at eBay. And American PS3 owners are aware of that.

But okay, some will sell their PS3s in exchange for more Xbox titles by Christmas, or a Wii system, but some are keeping their PS3s, that’s for sure. Economics does play an important part in all these buy-and-sell ruckus. On the bright side, whatever these future PS3 owners will do with their systems, all will go home happy. Sony will say “sold out” and some dude elsewhere in the world will be spending the holiday season feasting with PS3 titles most U.S. gamers would die for.
