PS3 Alone in the Dark redubbed as Alone in the Dark: Inferno, gets new trailer

Alone in the Dark Inferno - Image 1Well, they always said good things come to those who wait. After completing all of the fine-tuning and further enhancement in Alone in the Dark‘s PS3 version, Atari and Eden Studios were prompted to give the game a bit of a name change (err, name extension, rather). Most of the changes in the PS3 version are gameplay tweaks, but content-wise, it’ll remain the same as all its counterparts …except for one so-called “epic” bit during Episode 6. More info and a new trailer in the full article.

Well, they always said good things come to those who wait. After completing all of the fine-tuning and further enhancement in Alone in the Dark‘s PS3 version, Atari and Eden Studios were prompted to give it a bit of a name change (err, name extension, rather).

Apparently, the PS3 version is substantially different from its other counterparts that they just had to give it its own subtitle. It’s now called Alone in the Dark: Inferno. Back in August, we already heard about the improvements they made with the PS3 version. However, since we absolutely luuuurve bulletpoints, here comes a changelog of sorts:

  • Full 360 degree camera control
  • Fine-tuned controls
  • Inventory system more accessible
  • More tips
  • Spectral Vision tuning
  • Improved car dynamics and handling
  • 59th Street level tuning
  • Brand new thrilling action sequence

As you can see, most of the changes are gameplay tweaks; however, content will remain the same (same story, same character, same episodes, etc), except for that last bit on the list: “Brand new action sequence.” They’ve actually added a new sequence in Episode 6, one supposedly involving (in the press release’s words) “a previously unseen enemy of epic proportions.”

The PS3 version is now announced to be released this November. So, while we’re waiting for that, Atari’s also released a new trailer for the new edition of Alone in the Dark.
