PSP2600 v1.0.5 and PSP7800 v1.0.8 – PSP Slim compatible

The always reliable homebrew developer Zx-81 dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released new versions for Atari emulators for the PlayStation Portable, PSP7800 and PSP7600. The first one is currently on version 1.0.8 while the latter is on version 1.0.5; both are compatible with PSP Slim.

PSP2600 v1.0.5 and PSP7800 v1.0.8 - PSP Slim compatible - Image 1PSP7800 is actually is a handheld port of the Pro System emulator for the Atari 7800 console which runs on Windows. It was originally written by Greg Stanton. Here’s the changelog for Zx-81’s PSP7800 v1.0.8:

  • Compatible with custom firmwares 3.x and PSP-slim
  • Add a simple intro splash screen
  • Support iso8859-1 fonts in print text functions (might be useful to translate psp2600 menus in German, French…)
  • Bug fix in file requester

PSP2600 v1.0.5 and PSP7800 v1.0.8 - PSP Slim compatible - Image 1Furthermore, PSP2600 is based on the emulator Stella v2.2 which was first coded by Aenea. The team is currently headed by David Voswinkel. The following improvements have been implemented by Zx-81 to v1.0.5 for the PSP version:

  • Compatible with custom firmwares 3.x and PSP-slim
  • Add a simple intro splash screen
  • Support iso8859-1 fonts in print text functions (might be useful to translate psp2600 menus in German, French…)
  • Bug fix in file requester

Everything you need to know regarding installation and usage can be found in the download package for both emulators. Source codes have also been included so be sure to read the documentation before doing anything to avoid any problems.
