PSPik v0.01 is Here

PSPik!Kididio has just come out with the very first release of his IR Keyboard driver, the PSPik. Yep, that’s a very low number, so you know what that means.

The PSPik v0.01 should allow you to use an IR keyboard to interact with your PSP, via the infrared port. Since it’s 0.01 right now, you can be sure that this needs some tweaking and testing to work with all sorts of keyboards. That’s pretty much where you folks come in.

According to his readme, this is a proof of concept release to get people to help in testing the driver and figuring out which IR keyboards it works with. As he writes on the readme itself (with some minor editing, of course):

This release was tested by some friends of mine, with multiple deployers from ir keyboards like Acer, Hama, Sony, LG and so on, but for every keyboard we must improve the code, so i can not grant any functionality to you, its ver 0.01 first, you can call it a pre-alpha… A working release for the mainstream keyboards will be coming up at the end of this year.

If you have an IR keyboard, and feel very daring, why not help Kididio out? You can pick up the necessary files from us at the download link below, and if you know your German, you could probably offer some input on their forums. Thanks to Shoesy for the tip.
