Publishers say next-gen videogames could go mainstream in 2007

According to MCV, most publishers are upbeat on the 2007 game scene and they believe the Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3 will open new doors for non-gamers.

EA thinks all next-gen systems in the UK is the beginning of “prime time for interactive entertainment,” while Midway UK sees “even greater opportunities… as developers probe the potential of new consoles.”

Vivendi SA is a video game developer; formerly known as Vivendi Universal”>Vivendi Europe says 2007 will be very exciting as the Xbox 360 approaches maturity while the Wii and PS3 continue to penetrate the market. Ubisoft UK isn’t only banking on the next-gen consoles but on handhelds as well to fuel the game industry’s growth.
