QBX Puzzle Game for DS Released

qbxFrancois Pessaux, better known as Didou, has been a fixture of the GBA and DS homebrew scene for quite some time now. He has several puzzle games under his belt – ReboNDS, Fushido, and Tetrigram to name a few. Now, he’s back with a Tetris-like 3D cube game called QBX. It’s a thinking game; players’ aim to make lines in a 5x5x5 3D cube. The shape appears from above the screen and can only be moved forward/backward and left/right. The shapes don’t fall automatically, so you have time to place them and decide when you want to drop them. That way, the shapes go down in one shot. Any line made of 5 little cubes will then disappear. It’s quite challenging as you have to move the shape and rotate the cube.

The default controls to move the shapes and rotate the cube is up/down/left and A/X/Y/B. You can configure the controls to settings you’re more comfortable with.

QBX is Didou’s entry to the Neo Summer Coding contest. As always, he’ll share the source code after the contest. We wish him the best of luck.
