80GB PS3 box - Image 1A report has been published recently revealing that Europe will also be catching the return of the 80GB PlayStation 3. 80GB PS3 - Image 1Those in the market for a new PlayStation 3 in Europe might want to mark the month of September in their calendars. A report has come out that Sony will be confirming the 80GB SKU for the region very soon.

GamesIndustry.biz has reported that SCEE boss David Reeves will be making the announcement quite possibly tonight in an LA press event. The release window of the SKU in the region is almost the same as that of the period when the 80GB PS3 becomes a US standard.

Pricing isn’t certain at the moment but it’s likely to be at par with its North American counterpart. It can be recalled that SCEE stopped selling 60GB units in the region last year, leaving the 40GB PS3 as the only option for buyers.
