Rockstar Games announces The Warriors for the PSP
The guys behind the amazing Grand Theft Auto Series for the PSP have announced a brand new title called The Warriors – a completely different game compared to Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, which is due to be released for the PSP this October in North America.
Rockstar Leeds in conjunction with Rockstar Toronto will make The Warriors, a movie-based game which will hit North American and European store shelves this holiday season. Sketchy as always, Rockstar have kept the lid on what the PSP game will actually feature, they simply gave us the title to work with.
“We set out to create a highly sophisticated portable game that delivers a visceral experience previously unseen on the PSP system,” stated Sam Houser, Founder and Executive Producer of Rockstar Games. “We are looking forward to setting the definitive bar for the brawler genre on the PSP system by delivering an extremely stylish and exceptionally deep experience.”
The two denominations of Rockstar Games will base the game on the 1979 gritty gang-based classic, The Warriors, which is set in 1970’s New York City. Lets hope that it will follow the successes of previous Rockstar titles and since it is due for release before Christmas, you can expect some screenshots and more information on the game to be heading your way very soon.
