Batman: Arkham Asylum was one wicked superhero game. Understandably so, expectations for the sequel are set high. Rocksteady is reassuring the franchise’s fans that the sequel “won’t let anyone down.”

In an interview with CVG, Rocksteady boss Sefton Hill revealed that they are indeed feeling pressure to meet said expectations, but categorized that it is “a good pressure”.

“We’re all really excited that people want to see what we’re up to next and we really want to surprise people again,” he said. “I’m really excited by our next project and I promise we won’t let anyone down.”

He also talked about how proud he was of the completion of the original game’s 3D Game of the Year version. And while he believes there is a potential 3D market out there, “I don’t see it making a major breakthrough as soon as 2010.”

“Some of the expensive technology required in the top-end glasses makes 3D gaming not really much of a spectator or social sport so there’s always going to be a bit of barrier there.”

Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition is scheduled for a European release on March 26. It will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms, and will feature 3D options.
