Rumor has it that the “Harmony of Despair” trademark Konami recently filed for in Europe is indeed a new Castlevania game. What’s more, it’ll supposedly be an XBLA release featuring six-player co-op and a versus, fighter-style survival mode.

First details allegedly came from a post on never know tech which has since been pulled. Harmony of Despair was described as a Metroidvania sidescroller populated by characters from recent games in the series. The post mentions Soma Cruz, Alucard, Jonathan Morris, Shanoa and Charlotte Aulin as “confirmed characters”.

It’ll have GBA-esque 2D graphics with a much wider camera angle that zooms out to let you see the entire map with a click of the right stick, presumably so you can see where the other players are. Yes, up to six players can play at the same time on the same map.
