Rumor: Revolution in June?

The official word from Nintendo is that the Revolution will be released in 2006 and before Thanksgiving. No specific date, not even a month. So, it doesn’t surprise me that there is a rumor going on around that the Revolution may be launched as early as June. The rumor alarm sounded off when BusinessWeek interviewed Japanese Akiteru Itoh from Japan’s game tracking service Media Create.

This is what he had to say: “There are rumors that the Revolution could be released as early as June. If that happens and Nintendo sells around one million units, Sony could have a harder time catching up.”

Perhaps we’ll get more information when Nintendo reveals its plans for Revolution at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, California next week.

We have already learned not to hold our breaths when rumors of this nature come out. So again, don’t hold your breaths.
