Rumor: Super Smash Bros. Brawl bug confirmed?

Super Smash Bros. BRawl - Image 1Super Smash Bros. Brawl is still quite a few days away, but its Japanese version is almost here. And it seems that it will be arriving with a bug in its pants. Check out why it shouldn’t be a cause for panic for Smashers everywhere in the full article.

Flier - Image 1For those of us eagerly anticipating the release of Nintendo’s beat-em-up, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, here’s a bit of disconcerting news: it seems that the much-rumored bug that pops up right at the beginning of the game is true. Nintendo is apparently taking steps in order to make known to the public that it’s just a minor bug.

This comes from an alleged Nintendo Flier that has popped up online, and which you can see to the right of this article.

From what we can understand from the flier, it seems that the bug itself consists of an error message that pops up when you boot up Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the first time via the Wii Disc Channel.

But that’s just a minor letdown though, as you can actually bypass this error screen and play normally from then on. So it’s rather like a slight annoyance than a game-crippling issue. Whew.

Until we get confirmation about this bug, however, we’ll have to file this one under the rumors category. But it certainly looks credible. Here’s hoping that the one-month delay of the NA release of Brawl does away with this bug, if it does exist.
