Saga of Ryzom Offers Innovative Free Trial

SORSaga of Ryzom is one of the lesser-played, but more interesting MMORPG’s out there. Published by Neverax, SOR mixes elements of traditional “sword and sorcery” fantasy with science fiction to create an entirely unique virtual universe and gaming experience. The game takes place on a planet called “Atys,” which contains five distinct ecosystems and four races. As a character gains experience and skill, s/he can actually customize spells and special attacks to his/her own liking. The game also offers a variety of PvP combat scenarios, and is available in English, French and German.

Neverax has announced that they are offering a free trial on an ongoing basis. Unlike most free trials, this one has no expiration. No credit card is needed, and there are no XP limits (except for any mobs you can find). The only catch is that you will be restricted to the newcomers’ island. Access to the mainland will require that you upgrade to a paying account.

If you started a Free Trial before 12 June, your trial will still expire in seven days, but you can open a new Free account. (If you teleported to the mainland, however, your character will be back on the newcomers’ island.)

The game is available for download at the SOR Website.
