SanFran parties with NY on PS3 launch day

We’ve mentioned the PS3 NY launch party a couple of days ago. We could only imagine the anticipation and excitement on the faces of fans from the east coast. We wonder how those living in the west coast felt by then. Regardless, they need not to fret anymore because we’ve got them covered. Err, actually Sony‘s got them covered.

We found out today that a similar festivity will be held in San Francisco, California at the PlayStation Store. By festivity and similar, we mean blocked streets, music performances and sales of PS3 to the public. We’re not quite sure if they’re allowing booze inside but we understand that the Kutaragis are coming.

We don’t know if you can substitute Ken for booze or if he’ll be bringing some himself. The point is, Sony officials and faithfuls will celebrate for the night. Forget about sales, forget about competition and the rough road behind. The important thing is we’re here now at this very moment (appluase).

Anyway, here’s a rough rundown of the order of the activities:

• 8:00 a.m.: Throngs of raging, hard-core gamers lining up outside and braving the elements to snag PLAYSTATION 3
• 8:00 p.m.: Dramatic delivery of PLAYSTATION 3 shipment
• 8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Live music performance on barricaded 4th Street — near Mission (featuring Kenny and the Kutaragis!)
• Midnight: First sale of PLAYSTATION 3
• 12:15 a.m.: Interviews with lucky first consumer to purchase PLAYSTATION 3
