Santa Sackboy coming to town, LBP launches Short Film Challenge with IFC
Got milk? We know Santa likes a glass, and that’s why you have to get ready to prepare some cos Santa Sackboy costumes will be tumbling down your chimneys starting tomorrow. But not only that, there’s a film contest for LittleBigPlanet in tie up with no less than the IFC, so get those creative cogs working in your head. Knit up some milk and leave it by your window cos Santa Claus Sackboy is coming to town! Starting tomorrow, Sony will be sending out Santa costumes for your adorable knitted ones from the LittleBigPlanet.
Arriving tomorrow will be the Santa coat and trousers, while completing the getup on December 18 will be the Santa hat and beard. They’re both free, too, so there’s no reason for you to miss out on this holiday treat. Do note however that supply runs only until January 8th, so do make sure to get it before then.
But that’s not the only cool thing happening right now on LBP. They’ve also just announced that Sony has teamed up with the IFC (Independent Film Channel) to put your creativity to a whole new level of cool.
Introducing the “Play. Create. Share. Short Film challenge”, all you guys are invited to don the director’s hat and create a film corresponding to the following criteria:
- “Play” with one great idea that you can’t get out of your head
- “Create” a short film based on that idea
- “Share” this masterpiece with IFC, LittleBigPlanet and the world
Time starts now and you’ve got until December 21 to submit your entries. Film should be no more than five minutes, so make sure your work is short, sweet and concise. Winning entry will have another US$ 5,000 to add to his Christmas bank, will two runners up will get US$ 1,000 each. But apart from the cash prize, the winning film will be aired on the IFC, while other top videos will be highlighted on the LittleBigWorkshop.
So have a merry Christmas and spread the creativity and cheer. Get that Santa suit on your Sackboy, grab a camera and start rolling that film. Good luck and have fun!
