SCE Worldwide Studio Established – SCE to Be Unified

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. has announced the establishment of SCE Worldwide Studio, which unifies the software productions of Japan, the United States, and Europe.
Ken Kutaragi, chief of operations of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, commented in the press release, “SCE will continue to strengthen its software production business in the coming ten years, and beginning with the new platforms PSP and PS3, we shall develop innovative and interesting content. With the PlayStation brand and Harrison’s leadership, we are confident that we will keep creating strong titles.”
Kutaragi related that Sony will conduct a worldwide software strategy, in conjunction with countermeasures for rising development costs and the production of worldwide hits.
As the next generation of gaming looms, it seems many companies are beginning to restructure, merge, and plan their strategies.
