Sony Computer Entertainment America Senior Producer Sarah Stocker recently posted a canned interview over at the official PlayStation blogsite regarding upcoming title SingStar. The title is being developed by Sony London Studio and is expected to ship across North America by Fall 2007.

Stocker shared that one of the many firsts in this title is SingStar‘s very own online catalog, given its customization options and interaction with the community. The senior producer added that they designed this catalog with the PlayStation Network in their heads so the two are indeed a perfect match. Stocker explained:

Because the PS3 is online all the time, for the first time, we can offer the player the ability to pick their own songs from a wide online catalog available through the power of the PlayStation network. Whatever mood you or your friends are in, thereÂ’s something for you up there in the hundreds of available songs.

Aside from that, Sarah Stocker said as well that she is also mostly excited about My SingStar Online where users can record and upload their video performances from the console so that they can be watched and rated. When asked about how the game utilizes PSN apart from this features, Stocker answered:

The PS Network makes the SingStore and My SingStar Online possible. We’re able to offer a massive, ever-increasing catalog of content to choose from, and also to host a global community of SingStar players and their user-created content.
