SCEE: PlayStation Store PC to get downloadable UMD classic titles this summer

Sony PlayStation Portable handheld - Image 1If you thought you heard the last from us regarding the PlayStation Day event in London, then you thought wrong. The latest update from the ongoing event was some welcome news for all PlayStation Portable users in the European region.

What exactly was all the commotion about? Well, Reeves was quoted having said that “starting in the summer, you can expect to see electronic versions of classic UMD titles for download directly to your PSP”. While this announcement was made in front of a backdrop of the never released Gran Turismo 4 Mobile title, this definitely spells good news for the many PSP owners in Europe.

There are around 2.7 million PSP users in the UK that will surely be enjoying their visit to the PlayStation Store‘s PC section this summer season. There’s been no specific line-up regarding the titles that will be coming out, but we’ll make sure to keep our eyes out for any announcement regarding this in the near future.
