The Times Online is reporting that Nintendo has banned Shigeru Miyamoto from talking about his hobbies. How come? Well, it’s because Miyamoto’s ideas can cost the company billions in revenue. More after the jump!
The Times Online is reporting that Nintendo has banned Shigeru Miyamoto from talking about his hobbies. How come? Well, it’s because Miyamoto’s ideas can cost the company billions in revenue.
According to the Times article, it’s because some of Nintendo’s biggest and most lucrative projects have come from the mind of Miyamoto and the things that preoccupies his days. If he talks about his hobbies with reporters, people could latch on to them prior to their development with Nintendo and cash in on Miyamoto’s thoughts.
Banning a guy from speaking his mind seems a bit harsh, but we can understand Nintendo’s reasoning. We do hope that Miyamoto comes up with better inventions and ideas that improve the gaming world, because it’s nice to see something new and innovative hitting the scene.
