The Wii did much better in October than analysts Michael Pachter and Jesse Divinch predicted. Divinch – analyst for simExchange – now predicts that the Wii  will again dominate the holidays, a million consoles ahead of the competition.

Divinch gave a closer estimate to the hardware sales than Pachter (though the Wii still far exceeded his numbers). Divinch predicts that the Wii will sell just beyond a million units more than the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

More accurately Divinch predicts that the Wii will sell 3,282,000 units for November and December. The Xbox 360 will sell 2,196,000 and the PlayStation 3 will sell 1,153,000. The DS will come in at second place, he furthers, with 2,864,000, while the PSP will sell 1,240,000.

Divinch also comments on Naughty Dogs’ Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune as the PlayStation 3’s “last chance to prove itself in 2007,” predicting it to sell 286,000 units in December.

He also observes that the market is getting crowded with shooters and may, in the end, lose sales for software in the genre.
