Here’s an update about Super Smash Brothers Brawl that isn’t the usual flavor – an update about one of the game’s modes, told in a rather cryptic fashion with screenshots. We get you the latest on what’s up with this mysterious update that has everyone speculating.

The images seem to be in sequential order, featuring Mario and Kirby as trophies that come to life. Reading from the descriptions, it seems that the trophies are made to fight each other, with the defeated party turning back into a lifeless trophy, frozen in time – and it’s a bit disturbing that it’s equated with death.

Things don’t seem to be that dire, though, as we see Mario helping Kirby recover from his frozen state, but then a mysterious challenger appears – and we find out that if someone breaks the rules, the world will pay a terrible price.

So what could this update be about? One speculation that yours truly is cooking up is that it’s an alternative mode where you play as trophies and battle it out. Should you choose to work together, though, there could be a penalty such as a powerful boss suddenly appearing in the ring and beating you both up.
