The lower development costs for the PSP is starting to pay off for developers. Over at GamesCom, Sony has announced Minis, a line of bite-sized downloadable games for the PSP and PSP Go.

These Minis — which include titles such as Tetris, Fieldrunners, Alien Havoc and MiniGore — will be available exclusively on the PlayStation Store, with each game coming in at under 100MB. There will be 15 new games available when the PSP Go launches on October 1, and a total of 50 Minis are being planned for release this year.

Speaking of the PSP Go, Sony is also cooking up a little something extra for PAL gamers who buy one at launch. European and PAL gamers who register their brand-new PSP Gos between October 1 and October 10 will receive a free downloadable copy of Gran Turismo. That’s the full game, mind you.
