Sony clarifies: LittleBigPlanet will only be available on Blu-ray

A recent piece from Reuters reported that aside from being offered on Blu-ray, LittleBigPlanet will also be available as a download through the PlayStation Network. Don’t get excited though. Sony stepped in to clarify that this was an error, and that the game will only be released on Blu-ray.

A recent piece from Reuters reported that aside from being offered on Blu-ray, LittleBigPlanet will also be available as a downloadable game:

Sony will release the game, both as a retail disc and as a digital download, through PlayStation Network on Oct 21.

Don’t get excited though. Sony stepped in to clarify that this was an error, and that the game will only be released on Blu-ray. I won’t be surprised if the game requires a hefty amount of memory though, so better to reserve some space anyway just in case, especially if you plan on going crazy with custom creation.

LittleBigPlanet will be out (on Blu-ray, just Blu-ray) on October 21 for the US, on the 22nd for PAL regions, and the 24th for UK and Ireland.
