Sony selling Gran Turismo: HD cheap

Gran Turismo HD hasn’t even been released and yet the fans of the game are experiencing mixed emotions concerning Sony‘s pricing. All the ruckus is due to the fact that it’s possible that the microtransactions for every car or course in the Classic version of the game – if you want to complete all 750 cars and 50 tracks –  is going to be steep. In fact, some even call it a rip-off.

If the Classic version of the game (whose focus is online play) resembles anything like Swing Golf Panya on the PC, then Sony won’t have to deal with the clamor. Fortunately, they have not turned a deaf ear. In response to this clamor, series producer Kazunori Yamauchi revealed that Sony plans to make GT: HD available for the cost of the game disk and instruction manual. That means a retail price point of just a few dollars for the first PS3 Gran Turismo game is possible.

Sony eventually will include other downloads in between the Premium and the Classic versions when the game is released, so that means these downloads aren’t going to be free. At this point, Gran Turismo HD has reached its 70% development mark. Sony plans to release it in December.
