Sony’s PS3 DVR add-on lets you earn trophies just by watching TV shows

Remember that PS3 DVR add-on that Sony is releasing in Japan? Apparently they’ve added a feature that should entice the most trophy-hungry of fans. That’s right, they’ve added trophy support to it.

 

 

 

Remember that PS3 DVR add-on that Sony is releasing in Japan? Apparently they’ve added a feature that should entice the most trophy-hungry of fans. That’s right, they’ve added trophy support to it.

 

The add-on, called Torne, will apparently reward owners with the “Master of Final Episodes” trophy once they’ve watched enough final TV show episodes. Andriasang reports that this is from the latest issue of Famitsu. No word on further trophy support, though.

 

The same Famitsu issue also included the following feature list for the DVR add-on:

 

• Full High Vision Viewing and Recording
• EPG Compatibility
• Subtitle Broadcast Compatibility
• Dual language compatible
• Can write PSP data
• Compatible with PSP remote play
• Fast view playback
• Visual scene search
• Surf the net while viewing
• Torumiru view (a means of checking the viewing trends of other viewers)
• Trophy Functionality
• And more…

 

Sony hasn’t said anything about bringing Torne outside Japan, but those who just have o have it can import it when it comes out this March.
