Well so much for Nintendo’s efforts to block flashcarts from the DSi. The Acekard team has announced that it has successfully developed a flashcart that is DSi-compatible. According to the Acekard team, the 2i is “completely compatible with Acekard 2.” The flashcart, called the Acekard2i, will be commercially available soon enough.

This release shouldn’t surprise our regular readers. We’ve reported before about the vid Acekard released showing a lab version flashcart running on the DSi. Back then though, they said it was “almost impossible” to release a commercial product of their then-current method, so I expected their release to be much later.
