This miracle storage solution is apparently called the “PS3 HD Plus PHE-01”. It supposedly lets you connect an eSATA drive to the PS3 by way of a special stand that itself connects to the PS3’s HDD slot. There’s a trade-off though: you’ll have to keep your PS3 vertical.
Of course, this isn’t the first accessory of its kind. Team Xecuter already has the HDXT PS3 hard drive extender, which should work even better for those who like to keep their PS3s horizontal. The PHE-01 seems to work the same as the HDXT, but is USB-powered instead.
The images below also show four additional USB ports. There has been no other info on this thing apart from the pictures (there’s no manufacturer brand in the pics either), so it could be a prototype or worse, a clever fake.
