Star Wars Galaxies introduces the Beast Master Expertise System

Star Wars Galaxies introduces the Beast Master Expertise System - Image 1Sony Online Entertainment and LucasartsStar Wars Galaxies really gained a lot of popularity with the Star Wars community. For those who have been keeping up with the game, Chapter 6: Masters of the Wild introduced the Beast Master Expertise System. These are abilities available to all players in any profession or level.

They implemented this by adding a third expertise tree focused on the new skill set. This new system allows one to keep pets that grow with your character. These pets have two basic traits – happiness and loyalty.

Loyalty is earned as the beast gains experience through hunting so new creatures start out at zero loyalty. However, persevere through the three phases (Disobedient, Trained, and then Loyal) and it will get the ranking of Best Friend Forever, which means it will actually stay with you no matter what happens.

Happiness on the other hand is pretty similar to Loyalty, but has more states that the beast could be in. On the negative end, a creature can become Furious, Angry, Miserable, Unhappy, and Annoyed. If you’ve been taking good care of it though, you’ll probably be seeing either Content, Joyous, Happy, Very Happy, and Ecstatic. Food, activities, and locations affect your beast’s mood. It’s been said that it “has a predilection for particular foods, activities, and planets, as well as a specific aversion to others.”

That said, it looks to be a pretty well-thought out system that should bring smiles to players’ faces. After all, it does give you a good feeling when you log in and see your pet happily bouncing around in joy just being with you. Be sure to keep checking back for more updates on Star Wars Galaxies.
