As promised, we deliver this week’s final update for Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. To end things with a bang, we have the details of the single-player Adventure Mode that we’ve been hearing about for the game.

Even though it was initially advertised as a single-player campaign, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that a co-op feature was possible for Adventure Mode. After all, the game wouldn’t stay true to its fun-filled nature if you can’t beat nefarious space aliens with a friend.

However, the second player has to be careful not to become a liability for the first player, who plays the role of the main protagonist in Adventure Mode. Both players share a stock count of the number of lives per stage. If one of the two players die, they automatically switch to the next available member in their current roster that you accumulate during the story.

Since Player 1 takes the lead role, Player 2 shouldn’t worry so much about falling off the screen. The second player automatically gets space jumped right next to the first player’s location should he be left behind when the screen scrolls. However, if Player 2 gets knocked off the screen by a Subspace baddie then that still counts as a lost life for the team.

If you want to give yourself a challenge, you can try beating Adventure Mode in Intense mode and see what kind of rewards you can achieve for beating it on the hardest setting.

Also, there have been hints of a special way of powering yourself up when you do battle with the Subspace Army. However, it seems that the people at Smash Bros. Dojo will be leaving us hanging about the details on that little teaser for another time. In the meantime, enjoy the screenshots of the game’s co-op Adventure Mode.
