More and more details are coming in for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (PS3, Xbox 360). Today’s scoop features some gameplay details such as the usual campaigns, online multiplayer modes, a demo coming out, and an actual release date.

Dark Athena also comes with an enhanced port of Escape from Butcher Bay. The storyline picks up right after those events, throwing Riddick into another killing spree Riddick loves the dark and that’s what you’ll be taking advantage of when you dispatch your foes. You need to be good at the stealth-kills to succeed in this game.

As expected, Assault on Dark Athena will let you take the assault further with online multiplayer modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag. There’s also a unique mode called Pitch Black, where players play as standard soldiers, and one player plays as Riddick and tries to get rid of everyone. It’s an interesting game mode where you’ll get to see your skills against human-controlled soldiers.

Sources point out that a demo is currently in the works and is to be released sometime in March, while the game itself will hit shelves on April 7, 2009.
