The WoW Human Hunting Park April Fools Joke… we hope.

Chinese World of Warcraft cosplayer, hopefully she isn't involved in this - Image 1During April Fool’s Day, the craziest, funniest, and sometimes most disturbing jokes come out on the net. One such example of the latter is this article about the supposed WoW Hunting Park, as related by the blogger billsdue.

In the article, the billsdue related the story of Boss Wu, a rich mine owner from China and his other associates with the same line of work. It so happened that the said miners have become World of Warcraft aficionados and they decided to put up the WoW Hunting Park. They pretty much dress-up in WoW attire, complete with weapons, and start hunting their human prey across a “1000 mu” plot of land.

Their prey consists of mine workers they have under their employ. Boss Wu said this about the workers:

we pay miners 30-50,000 RMB a year, and 50-100,000 RMB when they get killed. Why not offer them 250,000 RMB to let us hunt them down in our WOW Park? If they can survive the day without being killed we pay them the money, and if we catch them we pay their families.

Now, some have found this to be a funny joke, while others believe it was done in bad taste, but all are in agreement that if this were true, then it would be creepy. Yes… very creepy. What makes this creepier is that at the beginning of this well-crafted tale (if it were a tale. We hope…), billsdue explains that he got his story through his reporter friend who was contacted by two brother who wanted to report the supposed hunting park to authorities, but were stopped by goons, and therefore had to find another outlet to bring the whole matter to their government’s attention. Brrr…. Read the entire story via our read link below.
