THQ gives Wii owners a summer break with Big Beach Sports

THQ recently announced its new sports compilation game, Big Beach Sports, exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. As its name implies, the title takes players to a seaside resort to enjoy and master several outdoor sports.

THQ is sending out word that Wii owners who want to experience summer right in the comfort of very homes can look forward to the video game Big Beach Sports. The title is exclusive to the Nintendo console.

According to the press wire sent to QJ.NET, Big Beach Sports is being developed by HB Studios Multimedia and will be launched worldwide this coming summer. THQ Global Brand Management Director Randy Shoemaker explains the game:

Sports including bocce, cricket and disc golf are making their Wii debuts and combined with the inclusion of more traditional games like soccer, American football, and volleyball.

Big Beach Sports will be an appealing title for the growing audience of Wii gamers.

Like the title implies, the whole game is set in a seaside resort. Big Beach Sports can support up to four players in one go. The single player tournament mode, however, was designed in such a way that players will be able to master each and single activity in the title.

Needless to say, the title will be utilizing the motion-based controls of the Wii. Steve Dauterman, THQ Senior VP of Product Development, added:

The innovative Wii Remote controller has revolutionized sports gaming, letting us involve the player like never before.

Big Beach Sports applies the control scheme to each of the varied sports featured, letting players pick up and play the games they know and learn the ones they don’t know.
