Hinting that Drawn to Life, the DS game now in development for the Wii, could be one of THQ‘s first releases for the new motion controllers, Danny Bilson of THQ reveals that they are going to support the PS3 motion controller and Project Natal when they’re released. Bilson also adds that the accompanying games won’t just be mere ports and shovelware – the titles promised will make best use of the new motion controllers.

“We’ll be there at launch with some very friendly titles for the first audience who will adopt that stuff, which is families,” said Bilson in an interview with GamesIndustry. “We’re not going to just port stuff over, each one of those platforms needs a lot of design love,” he said.

The technology is really excellent, for both Xbox 360 and PS3, so now it’s all about the creative versus the business model. What’s the installed base like and how much can I spend against those? Of course at first you’ll see games that cost less money, but as the installed base grows we’ll do more robust stuff.

Drawn to Life may be a port, but it’s no mere port, and it’s definitely not shovelware, having won awards in 2007 for its story and innovative design. Supporting Natal and the PS3 MC may be a good thing for both the title and the controllers. When Natal and the PS3 MC release becomes more imminent, it’ll be interesting what adaptations that developers will be packing into their game.
