UK Charts: Wii Fit debuts, third largest video game launch ever

Chart Track reports that Wii Fit raked in GBP 16.3 million (US$ 32.4 million) in its debut week, making it the third largest video game launch in terms of value.

Miyamoto was right on the money with Wii Fit. Its record is only topped by Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which took home GBP 24.2 million (US$ 48.18 million) when it launched, and Halo 3, which earned GBP 16.9 million (US$ 33.6 million).

Mario Kart Wii and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, as well as Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, have all had to settle for a spot lower to make way for Wii Fit. Here are the rest of the top games in the UK for the week ending on April 26:
