Here’s some good news for all of you hardcore mouse-and-keyboard FPS purists out there who just happen to have a PS3. According to GameSpy’s Gabe Graziani, the PS3 version of Epic GamesUnreal Tournament 3 will support both input devices through the USB ports on the PS3’s front.

The SIXAXIS will also offer tilt-sensing controls, of course. You can use the SIXAXIS controller’s motion sensing features to control where you look. Graziani says that while the SIXAXIS feature was not available yet during his playthrough, a Sony rep said that “it was actually very accurate once you got the hang of it.” Here’s more from Graziani regarding the controls in Unreal Tournament 3:

This demo had the weapon swap set to the R1 shoulder button, with the R2 and L2 triggers functioning as primary and secondary fire. The helpful Sony rep standing nearby mentioned that the L1 button would eventually function as a sort of weapon menu and, if held down, would open a radial smorgasbord of firearms that could be selected with the left analog stick.

Unreal Tournament 3 is slated for a U.S. release sometime in September and will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
